Description

No 20 Market Place is a house that now features a shop on the ground floor. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of coursed rubble stone, which has been painted. The building has long and short quoin blocks, an asbestos slate roof, brick stacks at the ends, and moulded wooden eaves. It stands three storeys tall and has two windows on the first floor, which are adorned with voussoirs and grooved keystones, although the window insertions are from the 20th century. The ground floor displays a 20th-century shop front. This building is included for its group value with the Angel Hotel located in Market Place.
