Description
This church tower dates from 1821 and was designed by Henry Poole. It is constructed of coursed and dressed rubble stone in a Gothic style. The tower is square with three stages. A large blind arch is located on the east side, indicating the former position of an octagonal church that was demolished in 1882. Small, blocked openings are present on the second stage, while the third stage features twin-light, louvred belfry windows. Doors are located on three sides of the tower, being blocked on the north and west. The tower is topped with an embattled parapet, with pinnacles that extend from stepped diagonal buttresses. Clock faces are visible on the south, west, and north sides.
