Description
The Angel Hotel is a building that combines an original hotel on the right and a house on the left, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features a rendered exterior with stone window dressings, slate roofs, rendered end stacks, and one ridge stack on the main range. The structure consists of two formerly separate single ranges that are now adjoining, with extensions at the rear surrounding a courtyard.
The main range on the right (No 22) has three storeys, a cornice, and a parapet. It includes three windows, which are mainly arranged as triple light glazing bar sashes and casements, with two canted glazing bar sash bays on the ground floor to the right of a carriage arch. These bays have moulded timber architraves and a cornice. The adjoining house on the left (No 21) has two storeys and an attic, featuring two glazing bar sash windows on the first floor and flat-roofed dormers with casements in the attic. The entrance has a central panelled door.
