Description
No 2 Albion Hill is a house that has been converted into a shop. It was built in 1832, as indicated by the datestone, and has undergone later additions and alterations. The building features painted brickwork, a slate roof, and a brick stack on the left side. It stands three storeys high with a moulded wooden eaves cornice. The façade consists of five bays, with the centre bay slightly recessed and angled. It has glazing bar sash windows and blind openings, all topped with painted stone lintels. There is a French window in the centre on the first floor, and the shop front was added in the late 20th century. Above the upper central window, the datestone is displayed in Roman numerals. The building occupies a prominent corner site at the junction of Albion Hill and Bailey Street and is included for its group value.
