Description
The Don is an early 19th-century house, later used as a shop and now a bookmaker's. It is situated on a prominent corner location at the junction of Albion Hill and Bailey Head. The building is constructed of red brick with a slate roof hidden behind a coped eaves parapet. It has a three-by-two bay front, with a three-window facade facing Albion Hill. The windows are glazing bar sashes, originally with plain stone lintels and sills, though the glazing bars have been removed from most windows below the meeting rail. C20th windows and doors have been inserted into the ground floor on both sides. The building is included on the list for its group value.
