Description
This building, located at 11 Albion Hill, is a house that has been divided into shops. It dates from the 17th century and was re-modelled in 1746, as indicated by a datestone, with later additions and alterations. The facade is made of painted and rendered brick, while the rear features a timber frame. The slate roof has a prominent axial ridge stack at the center.
The building has two storeys and an attic, with a wooden modillion eaves cornice. The front has four windows, including three plate-glass sashes set in 18th-century openings with plain lintels and projecting keystones on the right, and a wide late 20th-century casement on the left. There are three gabled dormers in the roof slope. The left side features a late 19th-century shop front, while the right side has a 20th-century shop front.
A cartouche with the inscription "P/RE/1746" is located between the central windows, and there is a Salop Fire Insurance Plate below it. At the rear, there is a lower gabled range with exposed timber framing, featuring small square panels on the left wall.
