Description
This barn, located about 15 meters north of Number 23 in Great Barrington, is dated 1837, as indicated by a datestone in the porch gable. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone and has a corrugated asbestos roof. The barn has a rectangular plan with a projecting porch at the center of the east wall and a lean-to structure to the left of the porch. The porch features double doors that are almost flat segmental in shape, with a doorway located in the wall opposite. There are ventilation slits, each topped with a small diamond-shaped opening, and stone trefoils are present at the gable ends and on the porch gable. Inside, the barn consists of four bays supported by collar and tie beams. This building is part of the Barrington Park Estate.
