Description
No. 35 is a detached house located in Great Barrington Village, likely built for a smith between the late 18th century and mid-19th century. The building features coursed squared and dressed limestone with a stone slate roof and a single ashlar stack. The main structure is rectangular and two storeys high, with a symmetrical facade that has two windows. The upper floor windows are wooden casements with leaded panes set within flat-chamfered surrounds. On the ground floor, there are three segmental-headed metal casements also with leaded panes. Access to the house is through a lean-to extension at the rear, which was probably originally located at the center of the front. The single ashlar stack is positioned with capping and skirting at the right gable end of the main body. This property is part of the Barrington Park Estate.
