Description

The Hollies is a house located at the end of a row in Great Barrington, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and features ashlar stacks. The main structure is rectangular with several later extensions added to the rear right. There is a 20th-century, felt-roofed, two-storey extension that is not of special interest.

The facade is symmetrical, with two storeys and three windows on the front. The first-floor windows are two-light stone-mullioned casements, while the ground floor has three-light stone-mullioned casements. All windows are adorned with stopped hoods and leaded panes. The central entrance features a 19th-century, four-panel door set within a flat-chamfered surround, topped by a gabled stone canopy supported by two moulded stone brackets. The gable ends have flat coping, and there are gable-end stacks with cappings and skirtings. The interior has not been inspected. The property is part of the Barrington Park Estate.
