Description
No. 12 in Great Barrington Village is one of a pair of cottages built in the late 18th to early 19th century. The structure is made of coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and ashlar stacks. It has a basically rectangular plan, with a small lean-to extension at the entrance that features a catslide roof. The cottage is one and a half storeys high, with the upper floor illuminated by two 2-light roof dormers that have metal casements and leaded panes, and hung slate on the sides. The ground floor has two and three-light wood casements with timber lintels, and a 19th-century plank door. There is a single axial stack with capping and skirting. The interior has not been inspected.
