Description
This outbuilding, located approximately 10 meters south of Number 54 in Great Barrington, dates from the 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with a stone slate roof and features an ashlar stack. The building has a rectangular plan and includes a two-bay extension at the right gable end, a gabled porch, and a lean-to extension facing Number 54. It is a single-storey structure with three 20th-century roof dormers that have hanging slate on their sides. There is a wide 19th-century plank door on the lower left and two large glazed windows to the right. The extension at the right gable end has a lower roof line and includes a single roof dormer with hanging slate on the sides, along with a doorway featuring a 2-light casement to the right. This outbuilding was partially converted for domestic use at the time of the resurvey in June 1986 and is part of the Barrington Park Estate.
