56, Great Barrington Village

56 Great Barrington Village is a Grade II listed building, part of a pair of houses that includes No 54, and was likely built in the 18th to early 19th century in two phases. The earliest section, located at the center of the row, features large blocks of finely dressed and coursed limestone, while the later extension on the right gable end is made of coursed squared and dressed limestone. The building has a stone slate roof with ashlar stacks and a long rectangular plan, standing two storeys high.

On the garden front, there is one 20th-century single-light wood casement and one 20th-century two-light casement. The ground floor has two 19th-century two-light wood casements with leaded panes, while the first floor features two 19th-century two-light casements with leaded panes and two 3-light 20th-century wood casements. A central 20th-century part-glazed door with glazing bars is located at the far right.

The roadside front includes one 2-light wood casement on the first floor and one 3-light wooden casement on the ground floor, both with leaded panes and a 20th-century timber lintel. There is also a 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement in the earlier range, accompanied by a 20th-century plank door to the left. The building has both axial and gable-end stacks and forms a row with No 54. The interior has not been inspected.
