Description

Park Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century. It features an ashlar facade, with the rest of the structure made from coursed squared and dressed limestone. The stone slate roof is complemented by ashlar stacks. The main body of the house has a rectangular plan with several later extensions at the rear left.

The facade is two stories high and has five windows. All windows are 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned metal casements with early fastenings, set slightly proud of the facade. Moulded hoods are present above all ground floor windows, which are placed over a plain band. The front door, located off-centre to the right, is a 19th-century four-panelled design with a flat-chamfered surround and retains its original knocker. Above the door is a flat canopy supported by moulded brackets. The gable ends feature flat coping, and there are gable-end and axial stacks with moulded cappings and skirtings on the main body, along with a lateral stack on the extension at the rear.

A looped iron railing runs across the front of the house, set on a low coursed and dressed limestone wall. The railing ends at the left with a coursed squared and dressed limestone pier topped with a pyramidal capping. Inside, there are fielded shutters on the windows, but the interior is otherwise not accessible. The house was empty and had some slates missing from the roof during the last survey in June 1986.
