Description
No. 54 is one of a pair of houses located in Great Barrington Village, dating from the 17th to early 18th century, with a 19th-century extension. The building is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and features an ashlar stack. It has a rectangular main body with a single-storey lean-to extension on the left gable end and a 19th-century extension at right angles to the rear. The house is two storeys high with an attic and has a two-windowed facade. All windows are 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements with leaded panes, except for a single-light wood casement in the lean-to and a two-light wood casement with leaded panes in the attic. Access is through a plank door at the left gable end, and there is an axial stack. The interior has not been inspected. The building is part of the Barrington Park Estate.
