Description

BARRINGTON GREAT BARRINGTON VILLAGE SP 2013-2113 (south side) 10/75 No 59 (including house formerly 23.1.52 listed as No 58) GV II Detached house (formerly divided into two). Mid C17. Coursed squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. Rectangular plan. Two storeys and attic. Almost symmetrical twin-gabled facade. Two 4-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casements with king mullions to the ground floor. Two 3-light flat-chamfered stone-mullioned casements to the first floor. Two 2-light stone-mullioned casements lighting the gables. All windows with stopped hoods and leaded panes. Former front door (now blocked) off-centre left with stopped hood. Small single- light casement inserted in the blocking. C20 single light, 2 and 4-light casements with leaded panes and timber lintels at the rear. Gable-end stacks. Interior completely modernised.
