Description
Hall Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century, is constructed from rendered limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins, topped with a plain tile roof. The building features ashlar gable end and ridge stacks with plain decorative bands, and stone coped gables. It is two storeys high with three bays, and has a lower two-storey extension to the northeast.
The central entrance is framed by a quoined doorcase with a projecting moulded architrave, and corner stops that are decorated with a flower design. Above the door, there is a moulded cornice. On either side of the entrance, there are uneven glazing bar sash windows in plain surrounds with projecting sills, with three similar windows located above on the upper floor. The lower extension to the east projects forward and features a 2-light flush mullion with casements on the side and a glazing bar sash on the gable wall.
To the south, there is an attached wall made of limestone rubble with rubble copings, which encloses a garden to the north. Centrally positioned in front of the house are two gritstone square gatepiers, each topped with moulded cornices and the bases of large finials.
