Description

Milepost located in Longnor, dating from the early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and stands approximately 800mm high with a triangular shape. The inclined head of the milepost is inscribed with "LONGNOR" on the left side, and on the right side, it features the distances to various locations: "BUXTON 6½/", "LONGNOR ;/WARSLOW 4¾/", "ONECOTE 8/", "IPSTONES 12/", "FROGHALL 14/", and "CHEADLE 17".
