Description

Milepost located on the B5053 in Heathylee, marking a distance of half a mile to Longnor. This milepost dates from the early 20th century and is made of cast iron. It has a triangular plan with an inclined head. The top is inscribed with "HEATHYLEE," while the left side reads "LONGNOR ½, BUXTON 6½," and the right side lists distances to various locations: "WARSLOW 3¾, ONECOTE 7, IPSTONES 11, FROGHALL 13, CHEADLE 16."
