Description

This is a milepost located on Bottom Lane in Ipstones, likely dating from the early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape with an inclined head set about 700mm above ground level. The front of the milepost is inscribed with "IPSTONES," while the left side lists distances to Onecote (3 miles), Leek (5 and 3/4 miles), Warslow (6 and 1/4 miles), Longnor (10 and 1/2 miles), and Buxton (16 and 1/2 miles).
