Description

This is a 19th-century milepost located approximately 1¼ miles south of Wetley Lane. It is made of cast iron and features raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular shape with a chamfered top. The top face displays the name "ONECOTE." The left-hand face indicates distances to Warslow (4¼ miles), Longnor (8½ miles), and Buxton (14½ miles). The right-hand face shows distances to Ipstones (3 miles), Froghall (5 miles), Leek (5½ miles), and Cheadle (8 miles).
