Description
This is a milepost dating from the 1830s, made of cast iron. It has a circular plan and features an enlarged head set about 700 millimeters above ground level. The left side of the head is inscribed with "LEEK/5/MILES," while the right side reads "ASHB/10/MILES." The head is domed, and the post below it is inscribed with "LONDON 149 MILES."
