Description

This is a milepost dated 1834, made of cast iron. It has a cylindrical shape with an enlarged head featuring two inscribed panels. The left panel reads "LEEK / 9 / MILES," while the right panel states "ASHB N / 6 / MILES." The shaft is inscribed with "..../ 145 / MILES," and the head is inscribed with "JAMES BASSET ASHBOURNE 1834."
