Description
Shaws Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with a remodel in the mid-18th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble, featuring raised ashlar quoins of unequal length and ashlar dressings. The roof is plain tile with coped verges on kneelers and has ashlar integral end stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the main range aligned north-east to south-west facing south-east, and a rear wing aligned north-west to south-east, along with a rear lean-to extension in the angle between the two. It stands two storeys high with a gable-lit attic, showcasing a hollow chamfered and ovolo-moulded eaves band. The facade consists of three bays with glazing bar sashes that have moulded surrounds, and a central door also featuring a moulded surround and a bracketed hood. The rear of the main range includes a three-light chamfer mullioned window with a rebated surround and a straight hood mould above it on the first floor to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
