Description
Ye Olde Crown Hotel is an 18th-century inn with later alterations. It is constructed from coursed and squared limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a plain tile roof with roughcast integral end stacks. The building consists of two parallel ranges that are aligned north-east to south-west and face south-east. The north-western range ends at its north-east side with a short range that aligns north-west to south-east, creating a rectangular shape with the other two ranges.
The south-east front has two storeys and three bays, with three-light chamfer mullioned windows on the left and right, and a circular window in the centre of the first floor. There is a central half-glazed door.
On the north-west front, there are two storeys and two bays. The gable of the north-east range is on the left, with chamfer mullioned windows on the ground floor to the right featuring four lights, and on the first floor to the right with three lights. There is a door to the left of centre with a Victorian gabled porch.
The north-east front also has two storeys and two bays, with the gable of the south-east range on the left. It features two-light chamfer mullioned windows on both the ground floor and first floor to the right, and a casement window on the ground floor to the left. There is a door to the right of centre, which also has a Victorian gabled porch.
