Description

Donnithorne Chase is an early 19th-century house located on Waterfall Lane in Waterhouses. The building is constructed of ashlar stone with edged diagonal tooling and channelled rustication, topped with a hipped plain tile roof and features ashlar integral end stacks. It is aligned east-west and faces south, consisting of one storey with a corbel table. The house has three bays, with two-light windows on the left and right, each featuring a central chamfered mullion and a raised, moulded surround.

A projecting central porch showcases a Serlian motif, featuring a round-headed entrance arch with a raised keystone and a returned hood mould. This arch is flanked by smaller rectangular openings with a balustrade beneath, and the parapet above the entrance arch is stepped up and crowned with finials. The entrance leads to a half-glazed door, which is flanked by two-light chamfer mullioned windows.

On the east front, the house remains one storey and has two bays. To the right is a two-light chamfer mullioned window with a raised surround and hood mould. To the left is a canted bay that includes a central two-light chamfer mullioned window, flanked by slim casements, all beneath raised keystones and returned hood moulds.
