Description

The Grange is an early 19th-century house constructed of ashlar. It has a hipped slate roof with three rendered stacks and a modillion eaves cornice. The house stands upon a plinth and is two storeys high with three bays. A painted, later 19th-century porch is centrally located, featuring an arched entrance with a moulded archivolt and keystone, flanked by single attached Doric columns supporting an entablature with a dentil cornice. The entrance has a glazed and panelled door with a decorative overlight. Single glazing bar sashes are present on either side of the porch. Above, a single central cross casement is flanked by single glazing bar sashes. To the right, a 20th-century single-storey, single-bay wing is rendered and covered with felt, featuring a single arched casement. A dropped arched stairlight with arched glazing bars is positioned centrally above the main wall of the house. To the left of the main front, set back, is a lower two-storey, two-bay wing with a render over red brick exterior and a slate roof, and a red brick gable stack to the left. The wing contains a doorway with a six-panelled door and a decorative glazing bar fanlight, with a single glazing bar sash above it to the left.
