Description
Straws Cottage is a cottage built in the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof with two red brick gable stacks and dogtooth eaves. The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays.
On the front, there are two glazing bar Yorkshire sashes set under segmental arches. The right bay projects and is gabled, containing two 20th-century casements. There is a doorway with a part-glazed door in the side wall, and above it is a single glazing bar Yorkshire sash. To the right of this, there is a small glazing bar casement, and in the side wall of the projecting wing, there is a single 20th-century casement.
The rear wall, which faces Main Street, has a single glazing bar Yorkshire sash and a tripartite sash to the right, both of which are similar in style.
