Description
Rose Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid-18th century, with some early 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof. The building has a right external gable stack and two red brick stacks along the ridge. The gables are raised and have brick copings with kneelers. The cottage is single storey plus attic and consists of four bays.
The entrance is marked by a doorway with a plank door. To the left of the doorway is a small casement window, while to the right are two 19th-century casements that have Gothick glazing bars. Above the entrance, there is a single sloping dormer that contains a Yorkshire sash window. To the right of the main structure, slightly set back, is a lean-to made of brick and coursed rubble, also with a pantile roof, which has its own doorway with a plank door. At the rear of the property, there is a single storey outbuilding.
