Description
The pigeoncote, along with attached stabling and granary at Manor Farm, dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed from dressed coursed rubble, with some ashlar and red brick, and features pantile roofs. The structure includes a two-storey plus garret, single bay pigeoncote on the right, and a slightly lower two-storey, three bay stabling and granary to the left.
The granary block has a doorway with a stable door and an ashlar lintel. To the right of this doorway, there is a single flight of ashlar and red brick steps leading to the first floor, and further right is another doorway with a plank door and an ashlar lintel. The pigeoncote has a single rectangular opening, with a doorway above that has a plank door. It also features three rows of red brick openings for birds, with two sets of ashlar alighting perches. Additionally, the granary block includes a single slit ventilator. The rear and right gable walls of the pigeoncote are partly made of red brick, and the gable has partially blocked entrances for pigeons.
