Description
Old Beams is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with a red brick front, featuring alternating quoins and dressings made of ashlar. The roof is covered in plain tiles with coped verges, and there are brick stacks at the ends. The building is aligned east-west and faces south.
It has three storeys, with a cyma recta moulded eaves band and reduced proportions on the second floor. The facade has two bays with two-light flat-face mullioned windows that contain 20th-century glazing bar casements. There is a 20th-century window to the right on the ground floor, which is set within a blocked doorway. The central door has a chamfered surround and is topped by a 20th-century gabled porch. To the right, there is a lower two-storey, two-bay extension, which includes a single-storey projecting gabled wing on the right side.
