Description
Leehouse Farmhouse is a Grade II* listed farmhouse dated 1751, built from coursed and squared limestone rubble with sandstone ashlar dressings and rusticated quoins of unequal length. It features a plain tile roof with coped verges and a brick integral end stack. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the main range aligned east-west facing south and a rear wing to the west end aligned north-south. It stands three storeys high, with a symmetrical recta moulded eaves band and reduced proportions on the second floor. The facade includes three windows with glazing bar sashes and raised surrounds, as well as a central part-glazed door framed by a rusticated architrave, raised keystone, and a bracketed pediment that features a cheese board carved with the royal coat of arms of Victoria.
To the left, there is a single-storey lean-to extension from around 1880, which has a 4-pane fixed-light window in a raised surround. The right-hand gable has an inserted 16-pane glazing bar sash with a raised surround, and there is a stair window at the rear with flat-faced transoms. The attached garden wall with ashlar coping encloses a front garden, and on the east side, there is a stone mounting block and two stone troughs. Inside, the farmhouse features a dog-leg staircase with turned balusters and a moulded and ramped handrail. The kitchen fireplace in the rear wing has panelled pilasters and a bracketed lintel.
