Description

Blackbrook Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with minor alterations from the late 19th century. It is constructed of dressed and squared stone, with strings indicating ceiling levels. The roof is tiled, featuring verge parapets with pitched copings resting on corbelled kneelers, and brick end stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. It has low, chamfered mullioned windows, some of which are missing mullions. Four mullions have been removed. There are two five-light windows on the first floor to the right, and two five-light, a two-light, and a five-light window on the ground floor, arranged symmetrically with the central entrance. The ground floor windows benefit from renewed lintels. A 20th-century door replaces the original. The strings continue around to the right-hand gable, which has a blind two-light attic window above two ranges of two- and three-light windows, mirroring the style of those on the front.
