Description

This is a milepost located approximately 30 yards south of Fold Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular shape with a chamfered top. The top face is inscribed with "ONECOTE." The left-hand face indicates distances to Warslow (3¼ miles), Longnor (7½ miles), and Buxton (13½ miles). The right-hand face shows distances to Ipstones (4 miles), Froghall (6 miles), Leek (6½ miles), and Cheadle (9 miles).
