Description
New House Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed from coursed dressed and squared stone and features a raised band at the first-floor level. The roof is tiled and has verge parapets supported by corbelled kneelers, with end stacks and a ridge stack located to the left of center. The building is two stories high and has a three-window front, with three-light chamfered mullioned casements that are deeper on the ground floor. The entrance is situated to the left of center and includes a small brick gabled porch with a boarded door. There is a lean-to on the left side and a lower single-bay addition on the right. This farmhouse is very similar, though slightly lower in quality, to New House Farmhouse on Far Lane, Ipstones, and was likely built by the same craftsman.
