Description

This house, formerly an inn and now divided into three units, dates to approximately 1774, with later 19th and 20th century alterations and additions. The front is of quoined red brick, while other parts are of coursed, dressed stone. It has a tiled roof with a stone eaves band to the right, verge parapets, and end stacks. The two-storey front is divided into two parts. The main section to the right has two windows, with 18th-century sash windows on the first floor, featuring wedged heads and a raised central keystone above the ground floor. The ground floor has late 19th-century hipped bay windows with large panes of glass. A quoined central entrance has a gabled porch and a partially glazed door. A smaller two-storey addition to the left has one window range and features a re-set datestone with the Sneyd coat-of-arms in an oval and the date 1774. A rear wing from the 18th century retains block mullioned casement windows.
