Description

No. 4 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the 17th century, with early 18th century and 19th century alterations. The building is constructed from coursed squared and dressed stone and features a tiled roof with verge parapets supported by corbelled kneelers and pitched copings. The front of the building, which faces the street, has a small single-storey and attic gable. It includes a two-light block mullioned casement above a wide three-light shop-window casement. To the left side, there is an entrance with a heavy lintel and a boarded door. The building is attached to Twist Intake on the right, creating an unusual juxtaposition.
