Description

This is a milepost, possibly from the early 20th century, made of cast iron. It has a triangular plan and an inclined head that is set about 600 millimeters above ground level. The front of the milepost is inscribed with "KINGSLEY HOLT." The left face features distances to various locations: "FROGHALL 1/IPSTONES 3/ONECOTE 7/WARSLOW 10 1/4/LONGNOR 14/BUXTON 20 1/2." The right face indicates the distance to "CHEADLE 2."
