Description
Thornbury Hall is a house with a core dating from the 17th century, which was largely rebuilt in the early 19th century and underwent mid-19th century alterations. It is constructed of red brick with a painted plinth band and features a slate roof with a painted cornice and blocking course. The building is three stories high and has a four-window front, with plate glass sashes that have wedged heads and raised keystones. The entrance is located on the lower wing to the right side of the rear, serving the earlier part of the house. Inside, the kitchen includes a chamfered beam, and the staircase features a heavy 17th-century handrail with later balusters and a large finial on the newels.
