Description

The entrance gate, piers, and churchyard walls located on the east side of the Church of St Werburgh date from around 1820. The stone piers feature inset pointed panels and are topped with pyramidal cappings. Above the piers is a scrolled wrought iron overthrow. The cast iron gates have spearhead rails and dog rails. The walls, constructed from ashlar quality stone, have chamfered coping and were originally railed, with a few short spearhead railings still remaining against the piers.
