Description

Sheffield House and Attached Cart Shed is an early 19th-century house, former shop unit, and cart shed located in Longnor, Derbyshire. The house is constructed of coursed stone with a graded stone slate roof, hipped on the left and with a verge parapet on the right. It features ashlar ridge and end stacks with cornices. The main facade is a three-storey, three-window arrangement with glazing bar sash windows. A central entrance is defined by a plain surround, a glazed door, and a corbelled hood. A shop entrance is located in the left corner and features a quoined surround and a 20-paned shop window. To the right end is a lower cart shed with a blue machine tile roof. The cart shed has an elliptical arched yard entry and a wider, similarly arched cart door to the right end, with two small windows to the first floor.
