Description
Pencotts is a Grade II listed building located in Northmoor. It consists of three houses built in the early 17th century, with an 18th-century extension on the left. The structure is made of uncoursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a gabled stone slate roof. The end stacks are finished in 19th-century brick, while there are two stone ridge stacks finished in 18th-century brick. The building is arranged in an L-plan with a rear left wing and has one storey and an attic, presenting a two-window range.
The façade includes label moulds over three- and four-light ovolo-moulded stone-mullioned windows that flank an ovolo-moulded Tudor-arched doorway. There are 20th-century casements in half dormers. The early 17th-century wing at the rear has a single bay and features similar two- and three-light mullioned windows, along with an end stack made of stone finished in brick. The 18th-century extension to the left has a two-window range, with timber lintels over two 18th-century plank doors flanked by late 19th-century two-light casements, and similar dormer casements. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
