Description

Southfield is a late 17th-century farmhouse, later extended in the 18th century and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with a gabled concrete tile roof and a brick stack at the right end. The original plan was for two units, now with a 3-window front. A 20th-century porch and door are on the left. The windows are 19th-century two- and three-light casements with chamfered timber lintels. An 18th-century wing is located to the left, built of similar materials but with 20th-century render and alterations to the left side. The interior was not inspected but is noted to have chamfered beams. The building is included on the list because of its contribution to the wider historic group.
