Description

The House is a Grade II listed building located on Langford Filkins Road. It dates from the early 17th century and was extended in the early 19th century, with some minor alterations made later. The structure is built from uncoursed limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. It has an L-shaped plan, consisting of a two-bay 17th-century range with a 19th-century addition at right angles to the rear on the left side.

The house is two storeys high with an attic and has a two-window front. On each floor, there are 19th-century casement windows set in plain stone surrounds, positioned to the left and right of a central entrance that has been infilled. The prominent gabled full dormers feature two-light mullioned windows with dripstones, and the right dormer has leaded lights. There is an integral end stack with a moulded dripstone and two 20th-century concrete shafts on the right, along with a 20th-century rebuilt end stack on the left. The left gable end has an infilled mullioned window, while the right gable end has a two-light mullioned window with a dripstone on the ground floor. The 19th-century range has contemporary casements with wood lintels on both floors, with the first-floor windows located directly below the eaves. A six-panel door is situated to the left, and there is an integral end stack to the right.

Inside, the ground-floor room, which was formerly two rooms, features boxed ceiling beams from the 17th-century part. There are traces of a winder staircase to the right of the fireplace on the right gable end. The first-floor rooms have chamfered spine beams, and the staircase in the 19th-century addition has square newels and stick balusters.
