Description
Village Farm Cottage is a detached cottage from the 19th century, constructed of limestone rubble with a stone slate roof on the side facing the green and a concrete tile roof on the opposite side. It has ashlar stacks and a rectangular plan with a small extension at the rear left. The cottage is two storeys high, with a facade that faces away from the road. This facade features two 2-light wooden casements flanking a single small 4-pane casement, and a single 2-light wooden casement to the ground floor left of a central doorway, which is now blocked. All ground floor openings have cambered heads. There is a single-storey stone extension that projects forward to the left, and a 19th-century plank door within a 20th-century porch to the left of this extension. On the roadside front, there are two 2-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars, flanking a single light set within a double-chamfered stone surround. A blocked window with a cambered head is located on the left gable end, and there is a blocked doorway at first floor level on the right gable end. The roof features gable-end and lateral stacks, with flat coping at the gable ends. The interior has not been inspected.
