Description
Green Close is a house that was formerly a pair of cottages, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone and features a stone slate roof with ashlar stacks, although the left-hand cottage was originally thatched. The building has a rectangular main body with a single-bay extension at the left gable end. It stands two storeys high and has a five-windowed facade. The windows include single-light, two-light, and three-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements on both the ground and first floors, along with two three-light wooden casements set within almost flat segmental heads on the left side. There is a 20th-century plank door located off-centre to the right, which is sheltered by a 20th-century flat stone canopy supported by moulded brackets. Additionally, there is a single-storey extension at the left gable end. The gable-end and axial stacks have squared-off cappings and skirtings. The interior has not been inspected.
