Description
Greycote is a house located in Little Barrington Village, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with later extensions at right angles at the rear. The building is constructed of coursed squared dressed limestone and features a stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. It has a rectangular plan with successive extensions at the rear right and is 1½ storeys high with a four-windowed facade.
The facade includes three gablets, each lit by three-light stone-mullioned casements that have stopped hoods, along with a single two-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casement at the first-floor level. The ground floor features two and three-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, also with stopped hoods. There is a 20th-century plank door with fillets and strap hinges located off-centre to the left, topped by a flat canopy with a moulded margin supported by moulded brackets. The gable ends have flat coping, and there are gable-end and axial stacks with moulded cappings and skirtings. The interior has not been inspected.
