Description

Corner Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th to 18th century. It is built from large blocks of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with smaller blocks added later. The roof is made of limestone slate and features limestone stacks. The building is rectangular in shape, with a probable 18th-century extension on the left end. It stands two storeys high with irregular window arrangements. On the first floor, there is a three-light stone-mullioned window, while the ground floor has two-light double chamfered stone-mullioned windows. All windows are fitted with fixed metal casements that have horizontal glazing bars. The central entrance consists of a plank door with a thumb latch, and there is a 20th-century gabled canopy supported on brackets above it. A low 20th-century wall is located in front of the door. The original entrance, which is now blocked, was located in the right gable end and had a plain flat-chamfered surround. The gable ends feature stacks, and the interior has not been inspected.
