Description

Riverside Cottage is a detached cottage located in Compton Abdale, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with some early 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and features brick stacks. It has a rectangular plan and stands one and a half storeys high, with two Cotswold dormers, each containing a 2-light flat-chamfered stone-mullioned casement without glazing bars. The central entrance features a 19th-century plank door with a thumb latch, set within a plain surround, flanked by a 3-light stone-mullioned casement on either side. The gable ends have stacks and flat coping. The interior has not been inspected.
