Description
Rathlin is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone and has a concrete tile roof, with a coursed squared and dressed limestone stack featuring a brick shaft. The main body of the cottage has a rectangular plan and is two storeys high. To the right of the porch, there is a 3-light stone-mullioned casement window with leaded panes and a stopped hood, which is likely reused. The first floor features two 2-light casements with glazing bars. A projecting gable-end stack is also present. There is a 20th-century painted timber-framed and brick extension at the gable end, along with a 20th-century lean-to porch, neither of which are of special interest. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included mainly for its group value.
