Description
No. 15 Tivoli Road is a villa built around 1834-1840, featuring stucco over brick with a concealed roof and end stucco stacks. The building has a double depth plan with a central hallway. It is two storeys high and has three first-floor windows, with the central bay projecting forward. The stucco detailing includes full-height end pilasters topped with a frieze, cornice, and blocking course with copings. The outer bays have a first-floor band. The first floor has 6/6 sash windows, while the second floor features 8/8 sash windows set in wider, segmental-arched recesses, all with plain reveals and sills. The central entrance has three roll-edged steps leading to a solid porch with pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice with a blocking course, containing a part-glazed four-panel door with an overlight. The interior has not been inspected. Historical records indicate that houses along Tivoli Road were laid out, with a few constructed at the northern end, as shown on Merrett's Map of 1834.
